SHAREit

With a name like SHAREit, I am sure it comes as no surprise when I tell you that this tool can be used to share data. And more to the point, you can use this tool to send files to others and receive files from others. Thanks to Lenovo’s SHAREit, you can easily transfer images, music, photos, videos, and other types of files.

SHAREit is available for multiple platforms: Microsoft’s Windows and Windows Phone, Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android. To get SHAREit up and running on a Windows desktop, you must complete a simple installation procedure that will take little of your time.

A “let’s get started” dialog shows up when you run SHAREit on your Windows-powered PC. It tells you that you can use SHAREit to transfer files to any device, even without a network. It features links to get SHAREit for Windows Phone, iOS, and Android. It features an “invite your friends” link. And it shows just how easy to is to use SHAREit to send and receive files.

Two large buttons are presented on SHAREit’s interface: a blue Send button and a green Receive button. Click the blue one to transfer files from your PC to another device. Click the green one to receive files from other devices.

Overall, SHAREit has an easy to navigate interface. From it you can easily access lots of features, functions, and settings: drag and drop to send files; receive files from other devices; manage a list of trusted devices (transfers from trusted devices are accepted automatically); easily connect your Android mobile and stream your photos, control PowerPoint slideshows, remotely view files, back up photos; invite friends via social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+), via email, or via QR code; pick a custom name for your device, chose an avatar, pick where to save received files.

SHAREit does not store anything in the cloud. Files are saved directly on the device, not in the cloud.
